Welcome

The Zambia Luxury Lodge Collection brings together some of Zambia's most celebrated safari experiences. This document consolidates the children's policies, minimum age requirements, and family-friendly programming across four of our partner properties: Chichele Presidential, Puku Ridge, Lolebezi and Lolelunga Private Reserve.

Each property has its own approach to hosting families, shaped by its location, activities on offer, and safety considerations (particularly around walking safaris, boating, and game drives). Please review the lodge-specific sections below when planning a family safari, and confirm final rates and age policies with our reservations team at time of booking, as these are subject to change.

Chichele Presidential

South Luangwa National Park — 10 Vista Suites (1 room for differently abled) | Safari Lounge

Chichele Presidential welcomes children of all ages, supported by the property's own Chichele Cubs program and family-oriented suite configurations.

Family Program & Policies

• Chichele Cubs: a family-friendly program offering various safari-related activities to children of all ages.

• Family Friendly Experiences: family and inter-leading rooms are available to cater to families with younger children.

• Babysitting: dedicated babysitting is not offered, but the team can assist with child-friendly activities during the day in conjunction with Chichele Cubs.

• Children under 16 are required to share accommodation with at least one adult at all times and must accompany adults when leaving camp.

• Children under 6 are not permitted on game drives alongside other guests and require a private vehicle to be booked.

• Walks are restricted to guests aged 12 and older, at the guide's discretion.

Puku Ridge

South Luangwa National Park — 8 Safari Retreats, each sleeps 2

Puku Ridge does not accommodate children under the age of 12. This is a fixed lodge policy rather than a discretionary restriction, reflecting the camp's unfenced setting overlooking wildlife-rich plains.

Policies

• The lodge does not allow children younger than 12 years of age, under any circumstances.

• Guests aged 12–17 stay with an accompanying adult.

• Walks are restricted to guests aged 12 and older, at the guide's discretion.

• Families wishing to travel with younger children are encouraged to consider Lolelunga Private Reserve, Lolebezi or Chichele Presidential instead.

Lolebezi

Lower Zambezi National Park — 4 Luxury Suites | 1 Luxury Family Suite | 1 Luxury Villa

Lolebezi welcomes guests of all ages and offers one of the Zambia Luxury Lodge Collection's most family-friendly settings, with a dedicated Luxury Family Suite and inter-leading rooms available.

Family Program & Policies

• Ngwana Club: a family-friendly program offering children of all ages a variety of safari-related activities.

• Family Friendly Experiences: family and inter-leading rooms are available to cater to families with younger children.

• Babysitting: dedicated babysitting is not offered, but the team can assist with child-friendly activities during the day in conjunction with the Ngwana Club, adults to accompany children at all times.

• Children under 16 are required to share accommodation with at least one adult at all times, and must accompany adults when leaving camp — adults may not leave children in camp with guides while on a game drive, boat cruise, or canoeing excursion.

• Children under 6 are not permitted on game drives alongside other guests and require a private vehicle to be booked.

• Transfers: full transfer rates apply to children of all ages.

• Canoeing, boat excursions, are restricted to guests aged 16 and older; are also subject to water levels.

• Walking safaris are restricted to guests aged 12 and older.

Lolelunga Private Reserve

Kasempa District, north-western Zambia — 30,000-hectare private reserve on the Lunga River | 3 King Rooms, 2 Junior Suites, 1 Family Suite (14 guests total)

Lolelunga Private Reserve is the newest addition to the Zambia Luxury Lodge Collection, having opened to guests in August 2025. It is Zambia's first fully fenced Big Five photographic safari reserve. Lolelunga's own 2027 Rate Manual confirms that children are welcome of all ages, supported by a dedicated Family Suite (Kisumpa | Kisekesa).

Family Program & Policies

• Children are welcome of all ages — Lolelunga does not operate a dedicated kids' club, but the reserve's small size (14 guests) and fenced setting lend themselves to flexible, family-oriented programming on request.

• An extra bed is available on request for children under 12 sharing with adults, and baby cots are available on request.

• The Family Suite offers two King rooms with an open separate lounge area between the two rooms, a twin-bed configuration on request, in addition to differently-abled access from the main lodge area.

• Walks and canoe trips are restricted to guests aged 12 and older, at the guide's discretion.

General Notes Applicable Across the Collection

• Community, Conservation, Park, and Carbon Collection levies are charged in addition to accommodation rates at most properties and are typically reduced or waived for younger children — please confirm the applicable levy structure per lodge.

• Full transfer rates generally apply to children of all ages, regardless of any discount on the accommodation rate itself.

• Where a private vehicle is required for younger children (for example, under-6s at Lolebezi and Chichele Presidential), this is charged as an additional cost and is subject to availability.
