Here the floodplain is the theatre and your tent is the box seat. Lion, leopard, elephant, wild dog and hundreds of Puku antelope dwell on the doorstep. We did not tame this land. We listened to it. Puku Ridge sits lightly on the ridge above one of Africa's richest floodplains, where conservation is not a feature but the foundation. Days are paced to the arc of the sun and the movement of the herds below.

Each suite has its own star-bed. Have it made up after dinner and sleep out above the floodplain, with lion calling somewhere along the river and the Milky Way overhead. Breakfast arrives on the deck as the valley wakes.

Mfuwe Airport
Daily scheduled flights connect Lusaka to Mfuwe International, followed by a scenic game-drive transfer to the ridge.
